When it gets too windy in Tarifa it is well worth heading out to Los Caños. Expert windsurfers enjoy surfing here, as conditions are extreme at times. Most water sports are practised in the area, but water-skiing and Jet Skis are frowned upon as the noise disturbs the local fauna.

Although it is not considered a sport, nudism has been practised for many years in Los Caños de Meca. Nudists and non-nudists mingle together on the beach that stretches to Barbate, and all types of people come along for the day, sometimes even whole families.
