Barbate
It´s not what one would call the most picturesque town on the Costa de la Luz, but it has a certain charm that makes it very appealing to tourists.
In the summer months its population practically doubles in size. Most of the tourism is national, not many foreigners visit Barbate (another great attraction!)
The beaches are gorgeous, the surrounding countryside is breathtaking and the prices in the restaurants, bars and shops are scandously low for most city dwellers. All the ingredients for a perfect holiday!
Three things not to be missed on your next visit:
1. Do a sailing course: in a matter of days you'll be sailing up and down the Straits of Gibraltar, under the supervision of an instructor obviously. It only takes a few hours to get the hang of it, and the courses are really cheap. Check them out! www.sailingcertification.com
2. Go-Karting: take a breather from the sun and sand, and head over to the Go-karting track for a bit of fun. Schumacher, move over!
